Welcome to the Piedmont Amateur Radio Club Web site.

The club is an active ARES club in Putnam and surrounding Counties who serves all licensed amateur radio operators and those that are interested in amateur radio in Putnam and surrounding counties.

We have members of all ages and backgrounds from Putnam and surrounding counties.

Our goal is to provide good radio practices, training, community service and emergency radio communications during an emergency.

We provide emergency communications for the following hospitals. Atrium Health Navicent in Baldwin County, St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greene County, Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper County and Putnam General Hospital in Putnam county.

We also provide emergency communications for the Central Georgia K9 Search & Rescue Team.

Our club meetings are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month at our tower site. The meetings are open to the public licensed or not. We conduct the club business and then we usually have at least one presentation on a subject related to amateur radio.

If you are a ham wanting to upgrade your license or a new ham wanting to get your license, our Volunteer Examiners can give you your test. If you are interested in taking the test, email on of the hams listed below and they will get you set up to take your test.
